Diablos Rojos vs. Jal. Astros

GUADALAJARA, Mexico (Interstat) — The Jalisco Astros can clinch a spot in the next round of the Mexican LNBP playoffs when they host the Diablos Rojos in Game 6 of their series on Thursday.

The game will tip off at 8 p.m. local time at Unidad Deportiva Avila Camacho.

Jalisco, the league’s dominant team with a 25-4 overall record, holds a 3-2 series lead following a dramatic 69-68 road victory on Monday. The Astros have won three of the last four games in the series.

The Diablos Rojos (17-11), meanwhile, are fighting to extend their season and force a decisive Game 7. They are coming off the narrow one-point loss despite a strong 19-point performance from Michael Carrera.

The series has been characterized by shifting momentum. The Astros opened with a blowout 98-71 home win, but the Diablos Rojos responded with a 91-74 victory in Guadalajara. The teams have split the last two games, with the home team losing on both occasions.

Jalisco’s backcourt of Rigoberto Mendoza and D.J. Cooper, who combined for 22 points and 8 assists in the last meeting, will be central to the Astros’ effort to close out the series on their home court.
