Fuerza Regia vs. Aguascalientes
AGUASCALIENTES, Mexico (Interstat) — The surging Fuerza Regia will look to continue their dominance over the Aguascalientes Panteras in a Mexican LNBP matchup on Saturday at Hermanos Carreon arena.
Fuerza Regia (18-5), one of the league’s top teams, has won four straight games against the Panteras (14-13) this season, including a commanding 89-77 victory on the road just this past Tuesday. In that contest, Fuerza Regia was led by Scott Bamforth with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Josh Ibarra added a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.
The Panteras, hovering near a .500 record, are looking to halt that skid and build on recent momentum after a solid 82-75 road win against Soles last Friday. In Tuesday’s loss to Fuerza Regia, center Mus Barro provided a bright spot for Aguascalientes with 14 points and six rebounds in just 17 minutes of play.
Fuerza Regia enters the contest having won 10 of their last 11 games, showcasing their status as a championship contender. The Panteras have been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses in their recent outings.
Saturday’s game will be the second in a back-to-back set between the two clubs at this venue, following a scheduled game on Friday. The result of that contest will likely set the tone for this highly anticipated rematch as Aguascalientes seeks a statement win against the league powerhouse.
