Jal. Astros vs. Diablos Rojos

GUADALAJARA, Mexico (Interstat) — The surging Jaliscos Astros, owners of the LNBP’s best record, visit the Diablos Rojos on Friday in a pivotal late-season matchup.

The Astros (23-2) have dominated the league and are coming off a commanding 98-71 victory over these same Diablos Rojos on Tuesday. In that win, Chavaughn Lewis led the way with 21 points, while Devin Davis added 16 points and eight rebounds.

The Diablos Rojos (16-9), however, proved they can challenge the league leaders, having handed the Astros one of their only two losses this season with a 91-74 win just a day prior to the Tuesday defeat. Michael Carrera scored 20 points in the most recent contest for the Diablos Rojos.

The season series is tied 2-2, with the road team winning three of the four matchups. The Astros won the two meetings in September in Mexico City, while the teams split this week’s two-game set in Guadalajara.

Friday’s game at Diablos Rojos Arena is the first of a quick home-and-home series, with the teams set to meet again in Guadalajara on Sunday.
