Diablos Rojos vs. Jal. Astros
GUADALAJARA, Mexico (Interstat) — The surging Jal. Astros, owners of the Mexican LNBP’s best record at 22-1, will host the Diablos Rojos on Tuesday at Unidad Deportiva Avila Camacho in a clash of league heavyweights.
The Astros have been nearly flawless this season and are riding a wave of dominance, coming off a 101-58 road victory over Xalapa on Oct. 13. Chavaughn Lewis leads a balanced attack, scoring 26 points in that contest.
They have also had the Diablos Rojos’ number in recent meetings, winning the last three head-to-head matchups, including an 81-79 victory on Sept. 9.
The Diablos Rojos (15-8) present one of the league’s tougher challenges. They are coming off an 89-83 win over Dorados on Friday, fueled by a strong performance from Daishon Smith, who posted 18 points and 7 assists.
This game is the first of three consecutive meetings between the two clubs this week, with the series shifting to the Diablos Rojos’ home court on Friday and Sunday.
