BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil (Interstat) — A battle of Brazilian basketball titans is set for Tuesday when undefeated Minas hosts a surging Franca in a marquee Novo Basquete Brasil matchup at Arena Vivo.

Minas (5-0) enters as one of the league’s last remaining unbeaten teams, though its perfect record has been tested. Three of its five wins have been by four points or fewer, including an 88-86 overtime victory over Sao Jose. The team is coming off an 84-76 road win against Cruzeiro on Saturday, powered by a 21-point performance from forward Erik McCree. Center Winicius Silva Braga added 16 points and nine rebounds.

Franca (4-1) brings significant momentum, having won four straight since a surprising 75-73 home loss to Caxias Do Sul. They are fresh off a dominant 96-77 victory over Corinthians on Thursday, led by a 29-point outburst from guard Juan Laterza. Forward Paulo Barbosa contributed 26 points and six rebounds in the win.

The matchup features two of the NBB’s most potent offenses. Franca has scored over 95 points in two of its last three games, while Minas has shown a knack for clutch performances in close contests.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. local time. Franca travels to face Cruzeiro on Thursday, while Minas’s next contest is at Ulbra on Saturday.
