Sao Jose vs. Paulistano

SAO PAULO (Interstat) — A surging Sao Jose squad will look to extend its winning streak against a struggling Paulistano team in a Brazilian NBB matchup on Tuesday at Ginasio Antonio Prado Junior.

Sao Jose (3-2) enters the contest on a high note after a decisive 77-64 victory over Botafogo on Saturday. The team was led by a standout performance from small forward Caue Verzolana de Freitas, who recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists. The win was their second in a row following a 61-57 victory over Vasco da Gama.

Conversely, Paulistano (1-3) is mired in a three-game losing skid. Its most recent outing was a 71-54 road loss to UNICEUB last Thursday, where point guard Kaleb Hunter provided a bright spot with 20 points and 7 rebounds in the defeat. Paulistano’s lone win this season came against Bauru on Oct. 20.

The game will be the first of a two-game home stand for Paulistano, which hosts Pinheiros on Thursday. Sao Jose continues its road schedule with a visit to Corinthians on Nov. 11.
