JEREZ DE GARCÍA SALINAS, Mexico (Interstat) — Fuerza Regia looks to continue its strong start and complete a three-game sweep of Zacatecas when the Mexican LNBP rivals meet again Monday at Marcelino Gonzalez.

The visiting Fuerza Regia (15-5) has won the first two matchups of this series, both played on its home court last week. It edged Zacatecas 86-81 on Friday, following an 84-83 victory on Thursday. Scott Bamforth led the way in the most recent contest, scoring 20 points with eight rebounds and five assists. Josh Ibarra added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Zacatecas (12-10) has been competitive in the losses but seeks to break through at home. In Friday’s defeat, Romeao Ferguson scored 17 points and Tavario Miller added 15 points and five rebounds.

Fuerza Regia enters on a five-game winning streak and has won nine of its last 10. Zacatecas, which had a two-game winning streak snapped with Friday’s loss, has been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses over its last several contests.

The season series has been tight, with three of the four meetings this season decided by five points or fewer. Zacatecas’s lone win was an 85-76 victory on Aug. 23.
