Jal. Astros vs. Leon

LEON, Mexico (Interstat) — A matchup of the Mexican LNBP’s top and bottom teams will take place Saturday when the dominant Jal. Astros visit the struggling Leon at Domo de la Feria.

The Astros (17-1) enter the contest with the league’s best record, having won 10 of their last 11 games. Their most recent result was a 97-83 road victory over Zacatecas on Sept. 19, led by Rigoberto Mendoza De La Rosa’s 23 points. Leon (2-16) is mired at the opposite end of the standings, coming off a 118-86 home loss to Soles on Sept. 18. Joseph Ruben Soto led Leon with 16 points in that defeat.

The season series has been entirely one-sided. The teams last met on Friday, with the Astros winning. In their two prior meetings in August, the Astros also won, 89-67 at home on Aug. 27 and 79-74 on Aug. 26.

Leon’s last victory was a narrow 88-86 win at Xalapa on Sept. 14, one of only two wins this season. The Astros’ only loss came against Fuerza Regia on Sept. 13.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Astros are projected to win handily, with a predicted final score of 87-30. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27.
