Aguascalientes vs. Fuerza Regia

MONTERREY, Mexico (Interstat) — The Fuerza Regia and Aguascalientes Panteras will meet for the second consecutive night Sunday at Gimnasio Nuevo Leon, with the home side looking to complete a weekend sweep in a key Mexican LNBP matchup.

Fuerza Regia (9-5) dominated the first meeting, cruising to a 74-57 victory on Saturday. They will look to maintain their hold on the second-place Panteras (8-6) in the league standings.

The home team enters as the heavy favorite, with Interstat’s game simulator projecting a 78-66 Fuerza Regia victory. The over/under is set at 154.5 points.

Fuerza Regia is coming off a split with Jalisco, most recently falling 100-88 to the Astros on Sunday. Scott Bamforth led the way in that loss, scoring 21 points. Josh Ibarra added 16 points and seven rebounds, while Wayne Langston contributed 11 points and six boards.

The Panteras, meanwhile, are mired in a three-game losing skid. Their most recent result was a 97-91 home loss to Diablos Rojos on Sunday. Tyrone White was a bright spot in defeat, pouring in 26 points and grabbing five rebounds. Erik Thomas added 21 points and six rebounds.

Aguascalientes has struggled on the road this season, with all six of its losses coming away from home, including Saturday’s defeat in this same building. Reversing that trend against a powerful Fuerza Regia squad that is 6-2 at home presents a significant challenge.

Following Sunday’s contest, Fuerza Regia will host Correcaminos for a two-game series next weekend. The Panteras will head to Zacatecas for a pair of games.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. local time.
