Aguascalientes vs. Fuerza Regia
MONTERREY, Mexico (Interstat) — A pivotal LNBP matchup is set for Saturday as Fuerza Regia hosts the Aguascalientes Panteras at Gimnasio Nuevo Leon.
The contest features two of the league’s top teams vying for positioning. Fuerza Regia (9-5) enters with a slim lead over the visiting Panteras (8-6) in the standings.
Fuerza Regia looks to rebound on its home court after a 100-88 road loss to the Jalisco Astros on Sunday. Despite the defeat, the team received strong performances from Scott Bamforth, who scored 21 points, and Josh Ibarra, who added 16 points and seven rebounds. Prior to the loss, Fuerza Regia had won five of its last six games, including a commanding 107-98 victory over those same Astros.
The Panteras, meanwhile, are looking to snap a two-game skid after dropping a pair of close contests to Diablos Rojos at home, including a 97-91 decision on Sunday. Tyrone White led the way in that loss with 26 points and five rebounds, while Erik Thomas contributed 21 points and six rebounds.
Aguascalientes has shown a pattern of strong performances at home but has struggled on the road, posting a 2-4 record away from home this season. Fuerza Regia has been dominant in Monterrey, boasting a perfect 6-0 record at Gimnasio Nuevo Leon.
According to a projection from Interstat, Fuerza Regia’s home-court advantage is a significant factor, with the simulator predicting a 78-66 victory for the hosts.
The two teams will meet again at the same venue on Sunday to complete the back-to-back series.
