Cardinals edge Rangers 5‑3 behind Burleson’s three RBIs

ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — The St. Louis Cardinals built an early lead and held off a late Texas Rangers rally to earn a 5-3 victory Wednesday night at Busch Stadium III before a crowd of 21,400. The win gave St. Louis a split of the three-game series after the Rangers had taken the first two contests Monday and Tuesday. The Cardinals improved to 32-28, while Texas fell to 30-32.
