CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Interstat) — The Charlotte 49ers held off a persistent Shaw team for an 83-79 victory in a non-divisional men’s NCAA basketball game Sunday at Halton Arena. In a contest that featured 14 lead changes and was tied on nine occasions, Charlotte used a strong second-half offensive push and capitalized on free throws down the stretch to secure the win and even its season record at 3-3 before an announced crowd of 2,215.
