GREENVILLE, N.C. (Interstat) — In a game that defied pregame projections, the East Carolina Pirates capitalized on a dominant first quarter to defeat the Army Black Knights 28-6 on Thursday night at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. The Pirates’ offense, led by quarterback Katin Houser, needed less than four minutes to establish a commanding lead they would not relinquish. East Carolina scored touchdowns on its first three possessions, amassing 21 points in the opening quarter and effectively putting the game out of reach early.
