LAKE CHARLES, La. (Interstat) — McNeese State erupted for five runs in the fifth inning to overcome an early deficit and defeat Incarnate Word 8-3 in a Southland Conference baseball game Saturday at Sudduth Coliseum. The Cowboys, who evened their season record at 16-17, pounded out 12 hits to back a combined effort from five pitchers. The loss dropped the Cardinals to 16-18.
