PITTSBURGH (Interstat) — The California Golden Bears erupted for five runs in the first inning and a nine-run fourth, overpowering the Pittsburgh Panthers 14-6 in Atlantic Coast Conference baseball Saturday at Petersen Sports Complex. The offensive onslaught, which featured 16 hits, gave the Golden Bears their second straight lopsided win in the series after a 12-1 victory Friday. California improved to 17-16 overall, while 22nd-ranked Pittsburgh fell to 22-11.
