PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — The Richmond Spiders used timely hitting and capitalized on early La Salle mistakes to secure a 4-2 victory over the Explorers on Saturday evening at Hank DeVincent Field, completing a three-game series sweep. The Spiders, who outscored La Salle 26-9 in the series, improved to 17-15 overall. The Explorers fell to 15-18. Richmond built its lead incrementally against a parade of La Salle pitchers.
