KENT, Ohio (Interstat) — Ripken Reese scored from third on Kolton Schaller’s walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning Friday, capping a late rally that lifted Kent State to a 5-4 victory over Miami (Ohio) in a Mid-American Conference opener at Olga Mural Field at Schoonover Stadium. The Golden Flashes, who trailed 4-0 entering the sixth, scored the winning run against Miami reliever Austin Berggren.
